The Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association (CMSARA) serves amateur radio operators in the greater Jackson, Mississippi area as an ARRL Special Service Club. CMSARA has an active public service program, maintains an active repeater under the club call sign KE5LIO, has well-attended monthly meetings with presentations of interest to hams, often by nationally-recognized amateurs. CMSARA coordinates the largest Field Day operation in the state in a location near Brandon MS. With the exception of December's meeting, VE examination sessions are held at the monthly meeting. Board meetings are open to all members. CMSARA maintains an active web site and has several social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn. A weekly ARES Net on Thursday evenings, beginning at 8:30pm Central Time and ending approximately at 9:00pm. Some Club news is exchanged but compilations of stations operating on emergency power with their locations is gathered. All licensed hams within reach of the repeater K5RKN in Brandon MS are welcomed. The frequency is 147.345, + standard offset, 100Hz tone using analog FM.
